Proning the COVID-19 patient is an essential part of the therapy we provide them. My colleagues have been utilizing a designated Prone Team which has proven beneficial for the patients, and also for the bedside staff, freeing them up to provide additional essential care to their patients. The Prone Team is a designated group focused on providing therapy to COVID-19 patients and consists of a respiratory therapist, an RN, and physical therapists.
In order to ensure Prone Safety, ICU teams work cohesively to provide resource-intensive care in a sequential manner.
